Biography

About Andrew Lindell

​Andrew D. Lindell is a Canadian visual artist from Toronto, Ontario who lives with his wife and two boys. With his use of warm earth colors and rich textures his art often relates back to his interests in environmental sustainability. His three-dimensional pieces are often praised for his unique way in mounting his work and creating his own canvases out of his art.


Andrew was introduced to art at a very young age. At the age of 12, his grandfather taught him the fundamentals of carpentry, construction and expression through the arts. Born in August 1960 in Asbestos, Quebec, Andrew has spent most of his life bringing his creativity to life, through leather craft, furniture design, home design and construction, millwork installations, film set carpentry and his own unique style of art and sculpture. He spent two years living in Canada’s Arctic which continues to give him artistic inspiration.


Andrew is currently a Scenic Carpenter of I.A.T.S.E. His varied skills as a carpenter and as an artist, gives him an original perspective on art. All of his work is created from previously used material. Each piece has a story behind its creation. Stories Andrew believes admirers would appreciate and marvel at.
